Unless of course, the hippo has a disguise. Maybe a trench coat, a fedora, some shades, might be using a "fake" accent, or possibly posing as baseball player, in uniform, spitting tobacco, cursing, etc. You just never know, or then again, could have placed a big horn in it's nose and is posing as a rhino, hiding in plain sight, could go unnoticed for years, they are not looking for rhino's, probable not posing as a member of the Taliban, not wearing a turban, smoking a lot of cigarettes, drinking coffee all the time, talking about IED's, some screaner would pick up on that way to quickly for the hippo to go unnoticed for very long.
Many would say a wiley hippo is one of the hardest animals to find, when they don't want to be found!!
